Day X is here for Julian Assange

The fight to #FreeAssange has reached a critical point and we need your help.

Hey y’all! As some of you may have already heard, the next court dates for journalist and publisher Julian Assange have been announced. On February 20 and 21, Assange will go before two new judges in a public hearing in the UK to decide whether or not the request for an appeal will be granted. A lot is riding on these court dates. If denied, he could be extradited within hours/days.

We need help making as much noise as possible in the days leading up to this. Contact your favorite content creators and ask them to give Assange some coverage. Share stories on social media. Hang up fliers in your neighborhood. Every small thing each of us can do adds up in the end.

Of course, if you are in or around London or are able to make it there in February, there will be actions taking place outside the courthouse on each day. The more people who show up, the bigger the statement and the more pressure we can put on.

There are also going to be coordinating actions taking place all around the globe. I always recommend that people follow my dear friend Alex Hills on her Candles 4 Assange pages on social media. Alex does a great job of collecting information about all events from around the world and publishing them from one central location to make them easier for people to find. Also, in the states there is a bipartisan piece of legislation called H.Res 934 that calls for journalistic activity to be protected and for the charges against Assange to be dropped. Please call your electeds and request their support on this issue.
